National Day of Action Against Bullying and Violence

Improvised and pop-up performances around the school highlighted that bullyng is not OK!

It was a very active day around Merici College on Friday 16 March with Drama students presenting improvised performance and pop-up performances around the school to highlight that bullying is not OK and that it is everybody’s responsibility to speak up to prevent bullying. Our very first Feel Good Friday, organised by our senior students, was dedicated to Say NO! with students recognising the importance of taking action against bullying and violence.

A special presentation will be made to all Years 8 and 9 by Centacare, as well as a discussion panel of senior students who will be mentoring the younger students, aiming to trouble-shoot their concerns.  Specific lessons dedicated to bullying and cyber-awareness are an ongoing part of the Merici Pastoral Care program and lessons are age specific so that materials presented are appropriate to the age group. It’s everyone’s responsibility to SAY NO!
