Welcome to the Merici 2020 Grandparent's Day Reflection. This year has certainly come with its challenges, both for our school community and for the world. Normally we would celebrate together with our grandparents beginning with a liturgy, followed by a lovely morning tea here at school, but because our grandparents are unable to come in and celebrate with us today, we have a special video message for you instead.

Prayers of intercession:
- Lord, we ask you to strengthen our grandparents as they continue on their journey. As they have been a refuge to many, be their refuge in life's difficult moments. Help us to learn from their wisdom which inspires us to reach our goals in life.

- Heavenly Father, we pray for the repose of the souls of our grandparents who have passed away. That they will experience your joy and peace in eternity.

- Lord, help us to appreciate and cherish our grandparents. Help us also to appreciate their wisdom and stories from the time before we were born. We know we have much to learn from their experience, and lots of love to give.

Our grandparents are a wonderful treasure. They have given us the gift of their wisdom, their unconditional love and their support to help us reach our full potential.
