All community members are invited to attend a talk organised by Catholic Education with Dr Debbie Pushor. The event will be hosted by Merici College on Monday 19 June in the Catherine Rey Learning Centre, Wise Street Braddon, commencing at 6.30pm.
Dr Pushor is a Professor in the Department of Curriculum Studies at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada and is a passionate advocate for authentic parent partnerships. In Dr Pushor's early career she worked as a teacher, consultant, principal and central services administrator. It was her experiences as a parent of school aged children that caused her to engage in research and work for solutions around school and parent relationships. Dr Pushor's research program used stories of parent knowledge, parent engagement and leadership to develop opportunities for partnering and she has recently co-authored two books on parent engagement.
