Australian Junior Science Olympiad Team awarded Silver Medal

The team undertook three three-hour exams as part of the 2021 International Junior Science Olympiad, and on Monday evening came away with six silver medals.

Last week, the Australian Junior Science Olympiad team completed their final training at Merici. They then undertook three three-hour exams as part of the 2021 International Junior Science Olympiad, and on Monday evening came away with six silver medals: a fantastic result for Australia’s inaugural entry into this event and testament to the students’ hard work. The students were trained by Dr Kathryn White, Dr Tammy Humphrey (James Ruse Agricultural High School) and Dr Sam Moyle (Brighton Secondary College), and supported by the fantastic team from Australian Science Innovations (based at the ANU).

Thanks also to Rachel Stephen-Smith MLA, who helped get access to timely COVID testing when the team were identified as casual contacts. They could not have completed the competition without this assistance and we’re all extremely grateful.
