Academic Awards Semester 2 2020

Today we presented Academic Awards to Year 8, 9, 10 and 12 students for their achievements throughout Semester 2 last year. We congratulate all our students on their achievements and wish them well in their endeavours this year.

Special thanks to Ellie Angel-Mobbs, Class of 2003, who attended the ceremony today and spoke to the students about her life experiences since graduating from Merici College. Ellie was the House Captain of Balgo. Her love for radio began when she was 15. Her dream was to one day work at Canberra’s Hit 104.7 or 104.1 2DayFM in Sydney. By the age of 24, she accomplished both! Ellie is one of Australia’s best radio announcers on-air Monday to Friday 12pm - 3pm on 2DayFM plus hosts Weekend Breakfast on Hit 104.7. Her media career spans over 15 years making appearances on national radio shows, TV and earning her multiple Australian Commercial Radio Awards (ACRA) as a finalist. Ellie is passionate about woman’s health and is as an ambassador for Endometriosis Australia. She is a great example of daring to dream!
