Today is International Women’s Day.The 2022 theme is:“Gender equality today for a sustainable tomorrow”recognising the contribution of women and girls who are leading the charge on climate change adaptation, mitigation, and response, to build a more sustainable future for all.

I would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge and thank the students and staff here at Merici, particularly the SAM's (Sustainability at Merici), as well as the Sustainability Captains, past and present, for their contribution.

Ukraine Appeal - Thank you!

Thank you to our community for supporting our Ukraine Appeal. We have been overwhelmed with the many generous donations received and today our students thoroughly enjoyed ‘planting’ their prayer cards and messages of hope to the Ukraine community. Prayer cards will be given to the officials at the Embassy of Ukraine to pass onto the Ukrainian community. All money raised will be donated to Caritas Ukraine to provide immediate and longer-term humanitarian assistance to communities affected by the conflict in Ukraine, and to displaced Ukrainians in neighbouring countries.

Merici College World Day of Social Justice

As a Catholic school and an IB World School, Merici College has a very strong focus on social justice. Our “Walking in the Shoes of the Other” art installation is an attempt to raise the awareness of the marginalized in our community. It coincides with World Social Justice Day. When we walk in the shoes of another, we empathise with those in need. In doing so we move from focusing on ourselves to look beyond - into the hearts of others.

#MericiMoment Wall of Words – Samantha Bruce (Class of 2011)

At Merici, the motto 'Dare to Dream' really stuck with me. It pushed me to dream big and pursue those dreams. Merici was where I discovered my passion for creative media/tv/film (a heavily male-dominated industry). Looking back on those media classes when I was 17/18years old, I wouldn't have guessed that I would become one of the youngest Television Directors for one of the major networks in the country.
