Merici College Green Tip #7 - Global Recycling Day Monday 18 March.

Next Monday, March 18th is Global Recycling Day.

Recycling is a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources.

Each year recycling saves over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions, and this is projected to increase to 1 billion tons by 2030.

Recycling is a key component for action on climate change and environmental degradation.

PLEASE RECYCLE

At Merici there will be a waste audit in the New Quad at lunchtime on Monday, March 18th.

All are welcome to participate or observe.

International Women’s Day Soiree 2024

We would like to thank our community for supporting International Women's Day and attending our special celebration. The theme for International Women’s Day is 'Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress' which is aimed at tackling economic disempowerment. The campaign theme also includes 'Inspire Inclusion’ and emphasises the importance of diversity and empowerment in all aspects of society.

Merici College 2023 Dux and Runner-Up Dux

As a part of Year 12 Graduation traditions, we present to a graduating cohort The Dux and Runner-up awards to the highest performing students based on their ATAR.

In previous years, we presented these awards at our Year 12 Graduation Dinner but as IB Diploma results are not released until January, we now begin a new tradition of announcing the winners at our Opening Mass in the following year.

Opening School Mass 2024

This year, our focus revolves around the 2024 College theme: "Spes," a powerful word that encapsulates the essence of hope. As we embark on this journey through 2024, we draw inspiration from the biblical quote, "We have this hope as an anchor for the soul, firm and secure" (Hebrews 6:19), anchoring ourselves in the unwavering hope that propels us forward in all that we do. As a Merici Community, we celebrate the transformative power of hope, recognizing it as a guiding force that illuminates our path and unites us in our shared vision.
