Open Day Thank You!

We would like to acknowledge the wonderful contribution made by students which, in no small part, contributed to the success of our Open Day. Over 200 students participated in Open Day activities during the day and into the night. The students were all wonderful ambassadors for our school and we have received excellent feedback from all our visitors on your exceptional skills in conducting school tours, participating in classroom activities, and presenting dance and drama performances.

It's all happening in our Aerospace Engineering Course!

Our Year 10 Engineering students began their aerospace Engineering course this year looking at the history of human space flight and exploration.  As part of this topic each student undertook research on a space mission of their choice, and produced a popular science-style article about that mission.

This week, Annalise Lennon writes about the Kepler mission to identify exoplanets.

Minister Cash launches the 2018 Australian Job Publication

Senior Business and Legal Studies students welcomed Minister Cash to the College who launched the 2018 edition of Australian Jobs. The publication provides an overview of trends in the Australian labour market to support job seekers and providers, careers advisers, those considering future training and work and people interested in labour market issues.

Minister Cash presented an overview of the Australian labour market to the students, in particular focusing on job opportunities for young women.

We would like to thank Minister Cash for spending time with the girls.

ANZAC March and Service at Queanbeyan

Merici College took part in this year's ANZAC Day March and Ceremony, continuing a long tradition. We were represented by a strong contingent of students and staff and, as always, our girls represented our school with style and dignity. One of the special aspects of this year's ceremony was that it was our turn to deliver the student address. Each year a representative from either Queanbeyan High, Karabar High, St Edmund's College or Merici College has the great honour of presenting a speech about what ANZAC Day means to them.
